Mel passed away peacefully following a brief illness on October 5, 2025, aged 53.

A Funeral Service to celebrate Mel’s life will be held in the
William Sampson Memorial Chapel, 134 Tainui Street, Greymouth on Thursday the 9th October 2025 at 2pm
followed by cremation here on the Coast at the Westland Crematorium.
