To Doreen’s family: –
My name is Diane, your mum and dad were my neighbours when I moved into Ward street 3 years ago. I deliver the Messenger around Cobden, but had met them before that
when I held a housewarming get2gether for the surrounding neighbourhood. Your mum loved her garden and plants, she gave me heaps of hydranger plants which I have
planted in my front garden. Each year they grow bigger and more flowers, so will say a prayer for her when they are all in bloom. Thinking of you all at this sad time, she and
your dad sure had a full life.
With fond memories
Diane
A farewell note to an old friend …..
Dear Doreen ,
Just where have all the years gone , one day young children clinging to our apron strings as we prepared thousands of meals for family and friends alike .
Today I read an article about caregivers , and how sometimes when working in that profession it can seem thankless .
Well friend I want to thank you for all that you did for the weak and vulnerable when you worked at the rest home all those years ago .
What beautiful meals and baking they would have had , also your kindness that you gave them .
You were the amazing gardener , ( actually that’s where we met in a garden ) and like a garden, life is ever changing .
We strived to create our own little paradise , and had to overcome the damage caused by the elements and storms that nature has thrown our way .
Go in Peace Doreen because you certainly go with much love .
And on that note I’m sending you on a “ FRAGRANT CLOUD “ ( my favourite rose )
Found memories,
Ellyn .
