Passed away peacefully at home in Kumara on October 5, 2025, aged 92.
Dearly loved wife of the late Ernie, and Pat O’Leary,
much loved mother and mother-in-law of Patrick, David & Sheryl, and the late Glenn,
loved Gran of Matthew, Sean, Christopher, and the late Jayne, and Michael,
loved Great Gran of Liam,
loved sister and sister-in-law of Doreen and the late Peter Wanhalla,
and the late Mavis Harwood, Kath & Charlie Jefferies, Ellen Hensley (Pat), Dawn Ayers, and Jimmy Harwood,
and a loved aunty, cousin and friend.
Daph will be sadly missed by the line dancing community.

A Funeral Service for Daphne will be held in
Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Tainui St, Greymouth on Thursday the 9th October 2025 at 11am
followed by cremation on the Coast at the Westland Crematorium.

We will hold you in our heart and thoughts now and in the time ahead as you reflect on her amazing life and what she has meant to you all. I know just how much she loved you all and she spoke about you with much pride and love.
We’ve known Daph for fifty years when we first worked together at the Westland Laundry. Through social work events and gatherings we became friends.
Our family called Daph our “Earth Angel” as she was always there in times of need…often just appearing put of the blue…guiding us with her life experience and strength through difficult times….someone we knew we could trust ….a much valued and faithful friend.
Oh Daph…the fun and laughs we shared over the years…all too many to mention here. How precious those times were and I’m so grateful we got to share them with you.
Rest easy Daph in the arms of those you love gone before……We will miss you💐
Our sincere condolences to you all following the sad loss of Daph. A wonderful woman who lived life to the full. She will be sadly missed but thought about often as we all hold onto the memories we have of spending time with her.
