Passed away peacefully at Granger House, Greymouth on March 6, 2026, aged 75.
Deeply loved husband of the late Marilynne, dearly loved dad and father-in-law of
Melanie & David Lucas, and Jamie & Kashanie, loved Poppa of four,
cherished son of the late Len & Rita, loved member of the Rei and Mackie families,
a beloved nephew, uncle, cousin and a friend of all.

A Funeral Service to celebrate Hoppy’s life will be held in the William Sampson Memorial Chapel,
Tainui Street, on Monday the 9th of March at 2pm.
Hoppy will then be laid to rest with Marilynne at the Memorial Park Cemetery, Gladstone.

With broken hearts we read about “Hoppy’s” passing, he was a great friend and workmate to”Haggis” and had wonderful memories over those years,Haggis was their bestman on their wedding day, we traveled up to Westport to see him when he was early stages of his dementia,but it got to hard for Haggis to see him with his little face at the glass top of the door crying when we left, it broke Haggis’s heart he couldn’t do it anymore, we just kept him in our memories,he was a beautiful soul will always be remembered Love always Ann-Maree and Haggis McLean
