Passed away peacefully at Kahurangi Dementia Unit, on November 21, 2025, in his 97th year.
Dearly loved husband of the late Isabella,
much loved father and father-in-law of Jeff & Lesley, Alastair & Neveen, and Murray & Tania,
a cherished grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, cousin, and friend of many.
Now at rest with Cath, Ena, and his mother and father
and reunited with the love of his life Issy.
A Service to celebrate Johnny’s life and the contribution he has made to ours will be held in the
William Sampson Memorial Chapel, 134 Tainui Street on Thursday the 27th November 2025 at 11am,
followed by cremation here on the Coast at the Westland Crematorium.
To Jeff, Alastair, Murry and families I would like to extend my deepest condolences to you all in the passing of Uncle John.
Jeff and all Johnny’s Family. I wish you all condolances on losing John after so many years. I live away and can’t travel but John was always a rock in the Lodge he was a member of for so long.
