Passed away peacefully after a short illness in Greymouth on January 11, 2026, aged 81.
Devoted dad and father-in-law of Ashley & Caitlan, Shelley & Grace, Lily, and the late Andrea,

A Service to celebrate Jack’s life will be held in the William Sampson Memorial Chapel,
Tainui Street on Saturday the 17th January at 1pm, Jack will then be laid to rest with Andrea at the Karoro Lawn Cemetery.

Dear Baxter family. I am saddeed to hear of Jack’s passing. We lived in Stillwater in the ealry days, and our family were all friends of the Black family. I worked with Jack at United Sawmillls in the early 70’s’ He was a great worker. My late brother Murray and Jack were good friends in the 50s and 60s. May Jack now sleep in eternal peace. A good humle, honest man. Thinking of you all.
