Passed away peacefully in her sleep at Granger House on September 2, 2026, in her 85th year.
Beloved wife of the late Peter, much loved Mum of Linda Worthington,
David & Diane, Ian & Susan, and Joanne & Dave Moen,
loved nana of Jess, Matthew, Emily, Grant, Megan, Andrew, Alex, Josh, and Tyler,
great nana of Erakka, Olivia, and Max, and Nana Kath to the Kenure family.
Thanks to the staff of Granger House for your care of Mum over the last three years,
and to Chris for always being there for Mum.
A family service has been held and Kathleen has been
laid to rest with Peter at the Karoro Lawn Cemetery.
Softly within the shadows, there came a gentle call, with farewells left unspoken, you quietly left us all.
Thinking of you all – have such lovely memories of Kathleen, growing up living across the road in Cobden, she was always there with a smile and the house was always full of noise and family. great memories

Kath, you were a talented and inspirational craftswoman. Everything from your ‘insanity’ quilt with ten thousand small hexagonal shapes right through to your simply gorgeous fabric books were a delight to behold. You called a spade a spade but generally didn’t speak unless you had something of worth to say. We still have your goldfish you gave us, some of which must be close to 15 years old now.
Rest in peace now Kath, you certainly have earnt it.
My condolences to Kath’s family. I so enjoyed her company, and our chats, over many years, at our stitching group facilitated by Sue Roper. Kath’s work was a delight, especially her extraordinary hexagon quilts and her usually fabulously colour-themed fabric books. She was a dab hand at sewing on buttons too. However it was her insights about life that elicited great respect – she had seen it all and she conveyed her views in a quiet direct manner. You will miss her forever. My kindest regards at this sad time.
