Passed away peacefully at Granger House,with loving family by her side on March 6, 2026, aged 90.
Dearly loved wife of the late Digger,
loved mum and mother-in-law of James & Jennifer, Rosemary & Noel Hende, and David & Barbara,
cherished Nana of Jason & Sarah, Melissa & Scott, Rory & Dawn, and Tegan;
Nathan & Barbara, Michael & Shelley, and Shannon & Katrin;
Jacinda & Sonny, Stayc & Adam, and Ben & Alana, loved ‘Nana Mary’ of 21 great grandchildren,
beloved member of the Sherlock and Howden families,
a loved aunty, cousin, friend and a special treasured friend of the late Sylvia Hibbs.
Mary was a life member of the CWI having just received her 60 Year Service Badge.

A Requiem Mass for Mary will be celebrated in St Patrick’s Catholic Church,
Tainui Street, Greymouth on Wednesday the 11th March 2026 at 11am
followed by burial in the Karoro Lawn Cemetery.

So so sorry to hear about Marys passing. Wow I have known Mary and Digger basically my whole life. Being brought up around the darts scene I met some great people. She was such a gutsy fun loving lady. We had many a chat over the years and boy we had some laughs. The years go too fast.
